Chapter IThe Club

Where the High Ranges have gathered for over a hundred years.

Established in 1917 in the High Ranges of Munnar, the Kannan Devan Hills Club has proudly passed its centenary. For decades it was the only entertainment venue for the company's estate staff — and members still take part in club programmes today.

Its rooms are open to travellers, too: people come for the panoramic views of Munnar town and the quiet. Over the years it has staged seminars, workshops, film shoots, sports and cultural evenings, and welcomed dignitaries, celebrities and politicians.
